India was once called a golden bird with a lot of wealth, but with changing times, different invaders looted the treasure. Sometimes the Mughals set eyes on the treasury, sometimes the British executed the loot. The richness of India can be gauged from a large number of minerals in the Sonbhadra district of Uttar Pradesh.
Amidst the discovery of mineral elements that have been going on for many years, there has been news of hidden gold worth about Rs 12 lakh crore inside the ground. A geophysical survey is being done by helicopters in many land parts of the district. In this survey, the location of gold is being detected with the help of some special equipment. Some part of these instruments hangs under the helicopter which conducts a flying survey at an altitude of 60-80 meters above the ground surface.
By the way, this is not the first time that such a large stock of minerals has been discovered. In South Africa, it has got the status of ‘City of Gold’ after getting mine of gold. Now a large amount of gold in Sonbhadra’s ‘Sonhill’ has shone in the eyes of the whole world. In 2018, there was news that during the mining of mines in Australia, two gold rocks were found. The value of this treasure was estimated at Rs 80 crore. After the mines of Australia and South Africa, Sonbhadra’s name has also blossomed.
According to records, gold was first discovered in the 1980s in Sonbhadra. A second attempt was made in 1990–1992. During this time the sleeping places were marked. The third and fourth attempts were made between 2005 and 2012. During the geophysical survey, it was found that gold and other minerals along with iron are buried in Sonanchal hill. Geophysical survey is going on in many areas of the district by helicopter.
